Sleep Well, Dream Big is Picking Up The Pieces’ children’s program focused on helping children transition from sleeping on floors, couches, or shared spaces into safe, comfortable beds of their own. Through new beds, mattresses, bedding, pillows, and intentional room setup, this program supports rest, emotional well-being, school readiness, and a stronger sense of stability for children rebuilding after homelessness or housing crisis.
Sleep is essential to a child’s health, learning, emotional regulation, and daily routine. When children do not have a safe and comfortable place to sleep, it can affect their ability to rest, focus, feel secure, and show up ready for school. This program helps remove one of the most basic barriers children face after housing instability.

We provide new beds, mattresses, bedding, pillows, mattress protectors, and child-centered room essentials when available. Each sleeping space is prepared with care so children have a place that feels safe, comfortable, and truly their own.

We serve children and youth in families transitioning from homelessness, domestic violence, crisis, or housing instability into stable housing. Priority is given to households where children are sleeping without proper beds or where safe sleeping arrangements are urgently needed.

A safe bed can help a child rest, regulate emotions, build routine, and feel a stronger sense of belonging at home. By providing beds and bedding, this program helps reduce stress for parents, ease financial pressure, and support children’s physical, emotional, health and academic well-being.
