Shana K. White is the Founder and Executive Director of Picking Up The Pieces. With lived experience navigating housing instability and a professional background in healthcare operations, patient support, and community-centered service, Shana leads the organization with both compassion and strategy. She oversees the organization’s vision, program development, fundraising, partnerships, donor engagement, and mission-centered home transformation work. Her leadership is rooted in the belief that housing is only the beginning — and that every family deserves a home filled with dignity, stability, and hope.

Stephanie Kennedy-Kinney | Saints Incorporated

Stephanie Kennedy-Kinney serves as Board Chair and provides governance leadership, mission alignment, and strategic oversight as Picking Up The Pieces continues to grow. With a background connected to social service, community support, and faith-centered leadership, Stephanie brings a steady voice to board development, organizational accountability, and decision-making. Her leadership helps ensure that the organization remains focused on serving families with integrity, compassion, and purpose.

Janette Phillips | Community Development / Strategic Planning

Janette Phillips serves as Director of Strategic Planning, supporting the organization’s long-term growth, campaign structure, development priorities, and operational planning. She brings strength in organization, strategy, community engagement, and implementation — helping turn vision into clear goals, timelines, and measurable next steps. Her role supports grant readiness by helping align programs, fundraising efforts, and board priorities with the organization’s mission and future growth.

Don DeFoe | DTE Energy

Don DeFoe serves as Director of Community Development and brings strong corporate, community, and relationship-building experience to the organization. Through his professional affiliation with DTE Energy and his commitment to community impact, Don helps build partnership pathways, strengthen corporate engagement, and connect Picking Up The Pieces with resources that expand service capacity. His leadership supports volunteer engagement, sponsorship opportunities, and strategic community relationships.

Aisha Morrell-Ferguson | COTS Detroit

Aisha Morrell-Ferguson serves as a Board Member and supports development, fundraising, and community engagement efforts. Through her professional leadership and affiliation with COTS Detroit, Aisha brings valuable insight into homelessness response, nonprofit operations, financial stewardship, and cross-sector collaboration. Her background helps strengthen the organization’s understanding of families transitioning from homelessness and supports partnerships that are rooted in dignity, stability, and long-term community care.

J’Dah Rogers | Southfield Public Schools

J’Dah Rogers serves as Junior Board Member, bringing youth voice, service leadership, and next-generation perspective to the organization. Her involvement reflects Picking Up The Pieces’ commitment to developing young leaders and ensuring that youth are part of the conversation around service, compassion, and community impact. J’Dah supports the organization’s mission by representing the importance of young people seeing, serving, and helping strengthen their communities.
